Microdermabrasion Acne – The Lunchtime Peel!

microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a technique which was first developed by two Italian plastic surgeons in the 1980′s. It’s a safe, non-invasive procedure which works on the top layer of skin, the epidermis. The epidermis is made up of many layers and is constantly shedding dead cells. A baby’s skin reproduces every ten days but as adults our skin takes between 28 and 40 days to renew.

Microdermabrasion is a favorite with celebrities as it is quick, taking only 30 to 45 minutes from start to finish and doesn’t leave your face red or sore. That’s why it’s called the ‘lunchtime peel’. Your skin looks fresher and rejuvenated immediately.

How Does Microdermabrasion Work?

A very fine powder of aluminium oxide crystals is ‘sand blasted’ over the surface of the skin and simultaneously picked up with a tiny vacuum cleaner. The process gets rid of layers of dead and damaged skin cells. This stimulates the skin as well as the collagen and elastin fibres, making the skin look healthier and firmer. It can also refine lines, remove brown spot problems, minimise pores, help scar tissue and clear up acne. You will look and feel fabulous!

Isn’t It Too Harsh For Acne?

Many acne sufferers have been advised not to use harsh products on their skin as this can make the condition worse. Exfoliants were recommended as a once a week treatment only. However, skin care has advanced and there are now many Microdermabrasion acne treatments that combine exfoliation with cleansers which are soothing and mild, allowing them to be used daily. These can help to clear the dead and damaged cells without aggravating sensitive skin.

If you are going to have Microdermabrasion in a salon, check that the person performing it is properly certified to do so – this includes beauty therapists, nurses and doctors.

Using a mild exfoliant is now recognized to be one of the best weapons in controlling acne. If used every 7 to 10 days, these Microdermabrasion acne treatments can clear away impurities, leaving the skin refreshed and revitalised. It allows blemishes to heal and helps to prevent new ones from beginning. The crystal powder is used with salicylic acid. These two powerful cleansers are recognized tools in the control of acne.

I Can’t Afford To Have Microdermabrasion That Often!

Microdermabrasion treatments for acne are offered in salons by professional specialists but there are other, cheaper ways to get this treatment. Check out the shelves in your drugstore and you’ll be surprised at how many products there are to help acne.

Many of the big names in skincare offer products that contain tiny beads or crystals that will give you Microdermabrasion at home. These treatments often suggest the use of toners and other products that are designed to be used together.

Microdermabrasion is very drying to the skin so it’s important to follow up with deep-hydrating face masks and moisturizing treatments. It’s advisable to use all of the products suggested as they have been developed to work with each other to give the best results.

These easily obtainable packages can make a real difference to your skin. Try Microdermabrasion acne treatment for a few weeks and see how it can help.

Learn About Microdermabrasion

microdermabrasion
Being the largest organ of our body, it is hardly surprising that the skin takes much of people’s attention, care and money. While women have always been keen in doing painstaking ways to take care of their skin, men are also beginning to pay attention to their skin. It is a known fact that skin consists of numerous cells. Every day, a good number of these cells die to be substituted by new ones. Aging disrupts the normal flow of this process and this results in various skin problems, such as dullness, wrinkles and dark blotches. Fortunately, technology has come a long way in helping people bring back skin what-has-beens. Over the years, various skin care inventions have been created, offering to reduce or totally remove every blemish there is. Among them is microdermabrasion.

1. What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure targeted in removing dead cells, stimulating the production of more living cells to replace them, as well as the production of collagen to give skin a more supple look. Simply put, microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, laser-free, chemical-free and acid-free way of achieving healthier and younger skin. Using a deep exfoliation process, this method was created to rejuvenate the skin, plus treat various kinds of skin damages, including acne scars, spots and blemishes, uneven skin color, large pores and blackheads. It is considered generally safe for all types and colors of skin.

- Microdermabrasion traces its beginning in Italy – First introduced in 1985 – Low risk procedure

2. The Process

Magic wand takes a new definition with this procedure, as it uses a hand piece that performs two tasks: first, it releases crystals called Corundum on the skin’s surface, that causes the gentle abrasion process. This removes the problematic surface layer of the skin, revealing newer and smoother skin. Secondly, the device uses a vacuum process that causes stimulation of blood circulation, as well as the production of collagen to make skin smoother and improve its elasticity. A session, usually conducted weekly, involves two treatments, lasting for an average of 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the thinness or thickness of the skin being treated.

3. What Are The Advantages Of Microdermabrasion?

- Non-surgical – Uses no chemical – Causes less discomfort – No risk of side effects such as scarring – Painless – Anesthesia-free procedure – Fast recovery

4. How Soon Will The Results Be Over?

Incredulous as it may sound, microdermabrasion’s results manifest immediately. After the first session, the patient’s skin will already show a pink glow, and will look smoother and softer. Continued treatments will eliminate skin imperfections and result to healthier skin. Full results usually take 10 treatments.

5. Who Should Undergo Microdermabrasion?

It is because of its safe and painless procedure that everyone may undergo this skin treatment. Offering a fast recovery, it is recommended to those who cannot accommodate a long break or time off, such as employees and students, or to those who are active in sports and other outdoor activities. Since the treatment is low-risk and practically universal to all skin types and colors, it may be given to those with sensitive skins, especially those who are allergic to certain chemicals and skin products.

Is this normal when using a home microdermabrasion kit?

blessed1 asked:

I’ve been using the Neutrogena home microdermabrasion kit on my face for about five weeks and noticed, about a week ago, that I have these tiny bumps on my jawline and forehead now. They aren’t red or painful- just bothersome to feel and see up close. Anyone have experience with this? Should I discontinue using it? I really like the results I get using it, otherwise.
Its not rosacea- the bumps are not red and my skin is not irritated.

What real benefits can I see from a ****** peel or microdermabrasion?

willnyu1982 asked:

I have some sun damage, sun spots and want to improve my skin. Having it look smoother and more refined would be best. Face washes and stuff haven’t done much, so I’m considering a peel or microdermabrasion. How well does this work and what can I expect to see. Also, what negative after effects can I expect? The one I’m looking at is an alternative to a chemical peel and says non-invasive. Uses an enzyme that must work similarly, but without the negative after effects.
