Microdermabrasion – just an expesive way of exfoliating? Can normal exfoliating wash gel give the same effect?
bej asked:
After reading up on microdermabrasion it sounds like all it does is remove dead skin cells – or at most the top layer of skin. Surely this is the same as any ****** scrub you can buy in the shops and use for daily cleansing? Or does it do something special that I haven’t heard about?

Anyone tried it?

It’s fantastic. I have been using a home kit for a month and my skin is glowing. I would highly recommend it.
the one I use has a hand held, battery-operated instrument which vibrates. It has a sponge head and you place the dermabrasion cream on it and glide over your face and neck for a few minutes. I have glowing cheeks again!
You can get them in Boots!
I believe the microdermabrasion kits are more “defined” than just a scrub or daily cleansing. I think it allows the cream you use in conjunction with the microdermabraision tool to penetrate into your skin and lift more dead skin cells than what a ****** scrub can do. It also polishes your skin to a healthier glow. Hope this helps!!
I have been getting bi weekly microdermabrasion treatments for 2 months now and it is amazing. It makes your skin extremely soft and can help eliminate redness and even out your skin tone. Definitely worth it!
try to use the link below. my friend use them in daily basis, it’s actually cheap and effective ‘coz i’ve seen a difference on her skin since using it for about a month. a set includes a soap, lotion and a ****** wash. since i knew her secret i also tried, and i’m using it for a week already, and the pink one is great i love the smell and the lotion was made with spf15 you don’t have to worry going out under the sun, the wash has microbeads it helps me clean my pores. so hope it helped.
I own a medical spa and I’ll tell you the truth… ANY exfoliating procedure or product is better than not exfoliating at all!
But, professional microdermabrasion procedures are much better and I’ll tell you why. Not only is the abrasive part of the procedure important, but the suction is equally as important. Suction helps to pull circulation to the top of your skin during the procedure to increase oxygenation and collagen production (which repairs the underlying structures of your skin). I prefer the non-crystal machines because they make a mess, the suction that’s supposed to be increasing your circulation is instead ******* up crystals, and the texture can’t be controlled.
We use a diamond-tipped, crystal-free machine and the suction can be dialed way up for tough, acne scarred skin, or turned way down for sensitive skin. We have a small tip for in the creases of your chin and nose, and various size heads for your face, neck and chest. We also have different diamond tipped heads in various grades of texture from very fine to course. These heads are autoclaved between patients.
I could go on and on, but this is a brief summary.
